FLEXO4ALL CONTINUES TO FOCUS ON FLEXO PROMOTION

A core group of strategic suppliers renewed their commitment to promote flexo within the packaging and labels printing sectors

Milan, Italy, 20th November 2009. Flexo4all, the international alliance of leading suppliers of the printing and packaging industries, will continue its promotion of flexography thanks to the forces re-union of a selected number of suppliers, all strategic leaders in their market sector.

Founded in 2007, flexo4all is a partnership to promote flexography as the winning printing technology for packaging and labels and is the natural evolution of “Flexo the Alternative”, an agreement between independent companies initiated by DuPont Packaging Graphics over 20 years ago.

Today, even during difficult economic conditions, a number of suppliers, all part of the original founders of flexo4all, have decided to renew their commitment to the alliance. Bobst, Comexi, Soma, Omet, DuPont Packaging Graphics, EskoArtwork, Lohmann, Tesa, Windmöller & Hölscher, Fischer & Krecke, Praxair and Siegwerk, are the twelve Core Members of the alliance that have decided to join forces in promoting flexography until next Drupa, in 2012. The number of partners has been kept intentionally low preferring representative quality of partners over quantity or completeness.

“Each of the companies which renewed their commitment to flexo4all has a well established position within the packaging and labels printing industry and the willingness to create more awareness around the benefits flexography delivers to printers, converters and packaging buyers,” says Jef Stoffels, Marketing Director at EskoArtwork.

There are three main areas of focus for the near future activities of flexo4all.

  1. The partners will integrate their knowledge and will leverage their complementary expertise to work with local institutions to improve the skills in emerging and growing markets. The goal is to provide year-over-year young talents to the flexo community.

  2. In Western European and consolidated markets the alliance will work to improve awareness around flexography with the intent of helping “specifiers” in understanding the advantages provided when converting gravure printed package to flexography.

  3. Flexo4all will spend efforts to understand and identify industry needs and trends of the packaging printing buyers community.

After last Drupa and during 2009, flexo4all maintained its presence on the market.

  1. A booth was settled at Grafitalia exhibition in March. Here samples of Flexographic packaging printing like napkins, coffee bags and plastic shoppers, all showing top quality bright graphic and colours were exhibited to visitor.

  2. The alliance presentation has been available on video, by its publication on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7lihS7Vcms. Many visitors viewed the presentation since its uploading, that took place just three months ago, confirming a wide interest of the market on flexo technology.

The website (www.flexo4all.com) has been updated by adding the video alliance presentation.
